Jazz in the year 1571

Was there jazz in 1571 England? One can only hope, but it's a safe bet to say no. So what do these do things have in common you ask. My fair Lady Cynthia and I went to the Tennessee Renaissance Fair (set in 1571) during the day, and then later that evening went to the Jazz on the Lawn shindig at Beachaven Winery. Eat, drink and be merry! The ren-fair was wonderful as always, my wife Cynthia and I even renewed our wedding vows, renaissance style, complete with a vicar conducting the ceremony, and Queen Elizabeth the First presiding. It was all so medieval. Our original ceremony was pagan / renaissance to begin with, performed by a cute-as-a-biscuit actual Wiccan priestess, (Shout-out to PENNY, Whoot! Whoot!). So the renewal wasn't a far stretch from the original. I was dressed as tavern patron / commoner, complete with, what one of the festival on-lookers called my, "renaissance disco pants". I had on a poet shirt, with leather vest, and crushed red-velvet pants, you be the judge; while the fair Lady Cynthia was dressed in a 21st century ensame' of the cutest pink shorts with matching shirt, and while I can't be 100% sure, I can only guess her unmentionalbles matched as well. It a meeting of Knight and Now-a-Day. Of course we were not the only couple to renew our vows, I can say with a great deal of confidence, we had the most fun. So if you get the chance to go to the ren-fair, do not pass it up, it totally rocks! (Every weekend in May).
After the fair, we came home to change (not my idea, hurmph!), and off to Jazz on the Lawn, it was the first one of the season, so I think everyone in Nashville, and Clarksville were there. We can only hope that it's not so crowded in the coming weeks. The wine is wonderful and usual, but we arrived late, so we missed out on the awesome bread rolls we usually get (boo-hoo). This is the 20th year anniversay for Beachaven Jazz on the Lawn, so if you like Jazz and Blues, and a great wine, then you have to put this on your must-do list for the next few months. It runs 2 weekends a month thru the end of October.
Love and light, brightest blessings to you and yours.
May your gods keep you safe until it's your time to meet them. Peace Out!
