Hey, sorry it's been so long since my last entry, but, my dear, sweet, wonderful wife volunteered me to help set up a website for one of our local boys that wants to run for council-at-large here in Nashville, so most of my free time has been there, once the website is live, I will post the link here for all to see and critique. So if you do not hear from me on a regular basis, you know where I'll be (lol). Let's see what has happened since our last meeting... oh yeah, my girl (Danica Patrick) came in 8th at Indy, darn the rain! We got a new yard pool, and that was an adventure getting that SOB set-up, and it's still about 6" off on one side (lol), and the joy of pool chemicals. Our daughter is going away for a week on a church trip, and of course, momma is losing what's left of her mind. - There is a new-ish restaurant in the Joelton area, "Sullivan's", it's a small-town version of cracker barrell, if that's possible, the food is great and the prices are not too bad, so if you are in the area, check them out, it's off I-24 at New Hope Road - no i was not compensated for that endorsment. - Well, if you haven't done so, be sure to register to vote, as elections are coming up in a few months. Remember, if you don't vote, you can't bitch!
As always, brightest blessings to you and yours, Peace Out! Me2

Jazz in the year 1571
Was there jazz in 1571 England? One can only hope, but it's a safe bet to say no. So what do these do things have in common you ask. My fair Lady Cynthia and I went to the Tennessee Renaissance Fair (set in 1571) during the day, and then later that evening went to the Jazz on the Lawn shindig at Beachaven Winery. Eat, drink and be merry! The ren-fair was wonderful as always, my wife Cynthia and I even renewed our wedding vows, renaissance style, complete with a vicar conducting the ceremony, and Queen Elizabeth the First presiding. It was all so medieval. Our original ceremony was pagan / renaissance to begin with, performed by a cute-as-a-biscuit actual Wiccan priestess, (Shout-out to PENNY, Whoot! Whoot!). So the renewal wasn't a far stretch from the original. I was dressed as tavern patron / commoner, complete with, what one of the festival on-lookers called my, "renaissance disco pants". I had on a poet shirt, with leather vest, and crushed red-velvet pants, you be the judge; while the fair Lady Cynthia was dressed in a 21st century ensame' of the cutest pink shorts with matching shirt, and while I can't be 100% sure, I can only guess her unmentionalbles matched as well. It a meeting of Knight and Now-a-Day. Of course we were not the only couple to renew our vows, I can say with a great deal of confidence, we had the most fun. So if you get the chance to go to the ren-fair, do not pass it up, it totally rocks! (Every weekend in May).
After the fair, we came home to change (not my idea, hurmph!), and off to Jazz on the Lawn, it was the first one of the season, so I think everyone in Nashville, and Clarksville were there. We can only hope that it's not so crowded in the coming weeks. The wine is wonderful and usual, but we arrived late, so we missed out on the awesome bread rolls we usually get (boo-hoo). This is the 20th year anniversay for Beachaven Jazz on the Lawn, so if you like Jazz and Blues, and a great wine, then you have to put this on your must-do list for the next few months. It runs 2 weekends a month thru the end of October.
Love and light, brightest blessings to you and yours.
May your gods keep you safe until it's your time to meet them. Peace Out!

The reason a dog has so many friends...
During my tenure as a paramedic with the Nashville fire department, I would met people at the worst times of their lives, and ask the most personal questions you could think of; "sir/m'am, could you please explain to me how the plastic egg found it's way into your rectum"? (you get the idea). Only on a few occasions did i find myself on the end of someone being hateful or sarcastic, otherwise, what should have been that persons most deep-dark-secret, we were discussing openly and frankly, without hesitation. Hence, if that is possible, why can't people who know each other, even on the acquaintance level, be more cordial, or at the very least, civil until they leave the room. While it appears trite, and somewhat condescending, to speak to adults on a 2nd grade level, I can't say I've ever heard of 7 yr olds belittling each other, or backstabbing another kid in class so they can get to lay their blankie next to the teachers desk (upgrade that into the corporate world, it will make more sense). Remember, prejudice is a learned behavior, and I'm pretty sure the 7 yr olds don't learn it from each other.
While we've come a long way from blankies and nap time, we can still share our milk or cookies with our lunch room buddies, and play tag in the parking lot on our way home... the next time you see someone headed to their car after work, walk up to them, tap them on the shoulder, say "You're It!" and run away laughing. They will laugh with you, or call the HR to discuss your possible dismissal due to mental illness, either way, you get the last laugh, because, they are still "it".
Oh, and the reason a dog has so many friends, because they wag their tails instead of their tounges.
